Julius makes a butterfly friend. This butterfly was a little crazy. Every time he'd fly he'd come back and land on Julius.

Amusing Ourselves

We had a big storm last night from Hurricae Ike who reached, unbelievably, this far inland. No electricity so Tristan didn't get to watch his show this morning. We are finding other ways to amuse ourselves. Right now he is stabbing a package of toilet paper with a screwdriver which means it's time for me to go!

Cast Iron Cooking

In an attempt to ween ourselves from aluminum cookware, we are using more cast iron these days. Old-fashioned Southern cooking! Tonight is my first attempt at au gratin potatoes via the heavy dang skillet!

We all sit here waiting in a big line for our kiddies to be lead out of the school. Every day that I come here I think SURELY there must be a better way. But I've not come up with it yet. Hey, at least it's cool.
