Tristan and I just spent the last 10 minutes playing, "Catch the Pointer" in which he tries to poke the cursor on the monitor and I move the mouse around and pretend the little pointy hand (cursory thingy) is trying to get away from him.
As far as fun-factor is concerned, this closely competes with the game "Catch the Flashlight Beam" in which I sit on the couch and shine a flashlight around on the walls and furniture and both boys fling themselves around wildly trying to capture the light.
I really should get some of these moments on video. I could be rich.

St. Blaise Day Disasters
As promised, here is a retelling of today's disasters. By the way, it's St. Blaise Day. I am not Catholic, but I know this because it was pointed out to me since Julius had surgery on his throat yesterday. And it has absolutely nothing to do with anything I'm about to say.
Fortunately, there were few disasters, but what they lacked in quantity they more than made up for in quality.
1) There was a pee incident with the Toddler's blanket which had to be put into the washer. This sent him into a complete meltdown due to the fact that he must never be separated from the blanket. I considered putting him into the washer also, but was vetoed by Rob.
2) Julius choked on a piece of beef jerky and when he coughed it out it landed in a big wet mass on the floor and before I could get over there to him he picked it up and ate it. I had to go lay down for a minute after that.
3) Later, Julius was on a time out for some heinous crime (can't even remember what now) but he kept managing to find something to play with in the timeout OR his brother kept going over to play with him. So, I told him to go into the bathroom and shut the door and stay in there until the timeout was over. About two minutes went by and I heard him scream, "IT'S AN EMERGENCY! AN EMERGENCY!" so Rob goes running in and when he flings the door open we see that the walls, the counter, the sink, everything on the sink and the whole bathroom mirror are covered in some kind of blue sticky liquid. Apparently he had taken his bottle of "plaque detector" and slammed it down on the counter to try to smash an ant that had gotten into the house and when he did it exploded. Everywhere. We mopped up blue stuff for 15 minutes.
4) While we were mopping up blue stuff in the bathroom, Tristan was rubbing his whole body with a stick of deoderant. He thought it was really funny, too.
5) Tristan ate my soup. Julius ate my ham. So, I had seconds, which was really firsts. If you don't understand that, it's okay. Most days I don't.

Morning Adventures
I'm starting a new non-picture feature here. After detailing the madness of yesterday and after this morning's experiences I thought it might be enlightening to document further "incidents" here, like "fieldnotes" I guess. Sort of like this:
5:00 AM
Tristan wakes me up. I get him set up to watch a movie and try to snooze for another little while so I can feel more like a human being instead of Swamp Thing.
5:30 AM
Tristan removes all covers from the bed. Time to get up! I find expensive gold jewelry in my bed. Nice technique, Tristan. Put jewelry back in nightstand.
6:00 AM
Shower, leaving Tristan unattended. Get out of shower to find all the couch cushions off the couch and Tristan standing in front of the TV with a blue magic marker. I ask if he is drawing on the TV and he says, "here!" and takes me to the kitchen where he has made a lovely floor painting on the linoleum.
6:35 AM
We're finally finished scrubbing the painting off the floor.
6:40 AM
I notice the nightstand drawer open. Jewelry is gone. I asked Tristan, "Did you take mommy's bracelet?" He answers, "Yes." The next obvious question which I am sure he will NOT answer is, "What did you do with mommy's bracelet, Tristan?" His predictable response is, "Here!" (which I can assure you is NEVER accurate) and then he points behind the still-disheveled couch.
6:50 AM
I finally find the flashlight and look behind the couch. There's a glimmer of gold back there. Sure enough he was right this time. Mommy's expensive bracelet that Daddy bought her when they were dating is behind the couch. WAY BEHIND the couch.
6:51 AM
I give up and decide to blog instead of facing reality.
