Monument to Frugal Mom
Rob's mom, for years has washed and reused ziploc bags. Her kids always teased her about it, good naturedly with me helping (only a little bit though).
Well now that times are tough we find ourselves doing the same thing! That's a little bit of karma I guess. So this picture is our monument to frugal moms everywhere!

Learning to Read
Julius uses starfall.com to learn how to read. It's an awesome site! Julius has his own blog now. Stay tuned for more information.
Modern Day Linus
Tristan is very attached to his blanket and wants to take it to daycare. He screams his head off if Julius even puts one finger on his blanket!
Bicycle Obsession
Tristan is obsessed with bikes. He constantly makes the sign for bike and cries when we pass by them in the store. We haven't been able to find a nice trike his size yet. Here he is trying to ride his brother's bike. You don't see the sob-fest that follows removing him from the bike minutes later.

Russ Sushi House
Tristan slices sushi rolls with his wooden cleaver. I highly recommend this groovy wooden sushi slicing playset from a company called Melissa & Doug. So awesome! The kids love it and even 19 month old Tristan manages to use it.

Packing Peanuts
Here are some things babies like to do with packing peanuts...
Eat them.
Lick them then stick them to the underside of the kitchen table.
Spread them around on the floor then lie on top of them, pretending to swim.
Smash them flat.
Shove them under the crack in the door to the water heater closet.
Take them out of the box.
Put them back in the box.
Repeat.
Endlessly.

Working on the Moves
We are going through another insufferable episode of waiting at the doctor's office. Julius is practicing his "moves" in anticipation of us enrolling him in martial arts for the summer. He is even chanting some sort of strange mantra, not in English. He says I should not disrespect The Master. I fantasize about disrespecting the master upside his head!

Storm Spotter Certification
Taking a break between sessions. I'm attending a storm spotting class with the National Weather Service. Lemme at that cumulonimbus! (And now I know the secret handshake and have a little card for my wallet with the super secret phone number to the NWS. I'm somebody now! Woot!)
