I'm having a giveaway over at one of my other blogs, A Passion for Letter Writing. It's a gorgeous set of blank greeting cards. Really lovely.

Go check out the giveaway. Who knows, maybe the winner will be YOU!

Milk Decapitation

Apparently there was an incident.

Out My Window

This is the view out my car window. Scary, huh? And yet to entertain you... Here I sit. How is that for devotion?

Low Water Bridge

In the country, sometimes you just hope for the best when you're trying to reach your destination.

Satisfaction x 2

This sign guarantees me satisfaction TIMES TWO. Oh if only it were that easy.

Conspiracy Theories for Dummies

Julius thinks the new pre-pandemic flu was made by scientists in a lab and set loose on the population.

I swear he DID NOT get this from me, but he HAS been watching the news lately. Maybe I shouldn't let my 6-year-old watch the news. (I do fast forward through the violent stuff, but I didn't think science news about the flu would send us into some kind of bizarro alternative reality where kindergarteners were coming up with conspiracy theories about bioterrorism.)

We need more SpongeBob Squarepants.

Unattended

This is what happens when my husband is home alone doing chores.

Worms in the Pantry

This is what happens when you live with boys... I went to the pantry to get something and found a gummy worm that looks like it's wiggling out from under a can of tomato sauce.

Ultrasound in Progress

Julius tries to pick up some medical tips while he's here. Grandma is waiting upstairs in the lunchroom. We'll have lunch here. Cheap food!

Waiting for Ultrasound Lady

Julius is waiting for the nice ultrasound lady. She was flirting with him in the hallway coming down here. It must be because she knows he is a famous movie star now.

Julius is Famous

While in the waiting room someone asked if Julius would be in a tv commercial! Here is Julius with the camera guy afterward. I was so excited I forgot to take pictures while it was going on. DUH!

They are filming some sort of commercial for the hospital that will be airing on May 6th on our local Channel 7. The producer said she would send me a copy of it in the email. I'll post it here when she sends it.

They raved about how cute he was. They put him in a gown and had him lay on a stretcher in the ER. An ER doc came in and examined him and they filmed all that. I was really happy that he didn't pretend he was dead like we both did last time we were in the doctor's office. (See earlier blog post.) Too much fun. Everyone was really happy with him.

This could be the beginning of a brilliant acting career! I need him to make a lot of money to support me in my old age. Cross your fingers!

Checking In

I swear this is the absolute worst part of the whole experience. I wish we were doing this at Children's Hospital. I wonder if the check-in ladies hate their jobs.

(Every time I look at this picture, I am still reminded of how much he looks like Archie Andrews.)

Waiting to Check In

We're waiting in the lobby of the hospital. We're here to get an ultrasound for Julius's hip. He has his new neck pillow we won in a Geico giveaway of all things. Very cute.

Waiting in Line

This is actually about a week old and I forgot to send it. It was raining and we were being silly waiting in line at the drive-through.

Willie Hinton

This is the Willie Hinton Neighborhood Center where the workshop was held. Cool old building from the early 1900s. I think it was an old school.

Community Garden

It looks like they are starting a community garden across from where I was taking the grant writing workshop.

Workshop Room

Sitting in the workshop room. Bad neighborhood, emphasis on The Hood. Abandoned houses boarded up. The building we are in is about to be boarded up. Not sure if my car will be there when I get out. On the sidewalk was an appliance cord that someone dropped when they were running down the street with a stolen tv maybe.

On the Road

Off to a grant writing workshop in the early morn. Two hour drive.

Empty Theatre

The beauty of living in a small town is that sometimes you get the entire movie theatre to yourself!

What the...

I have no idea why this picture looks like this. Julius and I are having date night. Waiting for movie to start.

Motrin

Someone in the marketing department at Motrin is on crack. Or needs a little "me time".

Picking Up

I'm waiting in line to pick Julius up at school. It's 3 in the afternoon and a woman who looks like she is wearing pajamas just walked by. I'm reading a back issue of a magazine so I can get it out of my house. I can't let them go unread for heaven's sake.

When we leave here we are off to the hospital to get Julius an x-ray. He has been complaining of leg pain.

Love Sheep

Tristan says he loves the sheep and wants to take it home. He asked me if I would put it I the car and I considered it, but then remembered it's bad form to steal from your clients.

Riding the Sheep

Tristan can't understand why the sheep won't get up so he can ride it.

Lunch

Aah, lunch.

Waiting for a Man

It sounds like I am at the hardware store for a pick-up, huh?

Not today anyway. The man I am waiting for is Rob. I figure if I'm sitting here bored then I will make a boring blog post for you, like a viral sickness that I pass on where the symptoms may include boredom, apathy, bitterness and possibly stomach growling.

That last one could just be because it's lunch time and my husband made me detour. Darn him.

Having Fun at the Doctor

Julius plays dead on the exam table.

Waiting for the Doctor

Circus Performer Boy waits to see the doc about his mysterious leg pain. The insurance nazi hates me and I'm certain she is letting everyone in but us. I am pretending to teach my son about how to have patience in adversity. I'm not sure I will make it considering he is bouncing his ball against the glass door.

Crayola Mega Bonanza Giveaway

This is TOO COOL not to pass along...

The blog I Never Grew Up is hosting a Crayola giveaway. There's about $80 worth of various products from their Spring/Summer line that will be given away to some lucky person.

I think I actually might have drooled a little bit on my keyboard. Go check it out.
(The giveaway, not the drool!)

Birthday Party

Julius is at a birthday party outnumbered by a bunch of girls. Two boys and about eight girls!

Landing

It's not the jumping down that's the problem, it's the landing.

Bagel Break

The boys sit watching a movie and taking a bagel break.
