Parent-Teacher Conference

We are celebrating a great report from our very first parent-teacher conference. Julius got a near perfect report except for the small matter of him always tearing up his styrofoam tray at lunchtime. Miss Lisa says it disrupts the other children who then want to also tear their trays up and subsequently forget to finish their lunches. She sees it as a problem, but I see it as him having leadership skills. Power to the little people!

Love is in the Air

Julius has a big crush on a little girl at school. He has been writing her notes and making drawings. I came home yesterday to find he had made this bag full of goodies for her. He has yet to let me look inside. Isn't he starting this love thing too early??

Sharing a Pumpkin

Kayla and Tristan sharing the Halloween Pumpkin basket.

Kayla and Tristan

Kayla and Tristan on their second date. I missed the picture of their first kiss. Too adorable!

Food for Boyz

The gas light is on so prudence demands I accompany the boys as they detour to McDonalds. I hope we make it! Julius and I played Paper Rock Scissors out the windows across the parking lot. I'm sure the people behind them thought we were nuts.

My son is getting into the tradition of hot tea on a cool day. Today it's red raspberry herbal tea with a spoonful of sugar.

Penny Saved, Penny Earned

What do you do with your penny? When I go to the drive-through and I'm due a penny or two back in change I always feel weird about it. If I sit there with my hand out, I feel like a dork waiting for an amount of money that is insignificant. If I just tell them to keep it, I'm a bigger dork for saying "Keep the change!" Woo, yeah. So what to do?

Togetherness

One of my favorite things about the boys is how devoted they are to one another.

Currently Reading

I'm currently reading "She Got Up off the Couch" by Haven Kimmel. She is a hilarious writer. So far I like the first book better -- "A Girl Named Zippy". You must read it if you like homespun tales.

Finished Product

Here is the finished product from today. When I married my husband I had no idea this would be one of the perks!

Sushi Heaven

One of the things we missed after moving here from Cali was ethnic food of varying types. For Rob's birthday I got him a sushi book and kit. He's been trying to perfect his recipe and finally did it today!

Happy Birthday Alex

Julius was invited to a birthday party today. Alex's mom made THE COOLEST cake I've ever seen... A 3D pirate ship. Julius says for his birthday cake he wants a dinosaur that bleeds when you cut into it. That's my boy!

Fixing the TV

Our electricity is out and Julius hasn't realized that's why the TV isn't working. Here he is attempting to fix it by adding more cables. Surely this will work!

Signing Time

Tristan loves Baby Signing Time videos. It's like crack for babies. I highly recommend it! (The videos I mean... not the crack!)
