Celebrating Autumn
The boys are dressed up in camo to celebrate the first day of wearing long pants to school. (Isn't this how everyone celebrates??) My mom said, "Where was this picture taken? They look like ghetto kids!" Well, oopsie, this is our front porch and it looks bad because our landscaping bricks are stacked up there.

Chili Trophy
No winner's circle for me, but here is my participant trophy! We had lots of fun. Thanks, Mom and Rob for helping me!
Waiting for the Judges
We're 45 minutes from the judging of the chili! Mom and I are just sitting here on the edge of our seats!
Frog
It's not pretty but the frog wouldn't sit still! Julius caught a frog at the chili cook off. (Outside, not IN the cook off!)

The New Archie Andrews
Is this uncanny or what? The minute I saw this photo I thought of Archie Comics! (Picture nabbed from archiecomics.com.)
Super Shaggy Sandwich
Julius and I are big fans of Scooby-Doo. Here is Julius's interpretation of the "Super Shaggy Sandwich".
Helping Dad
The boys help dad in the yard. Julius pushes the wheelbarrow, Tristan stomps through the tidy piles that Rob rakes. So, I guess technically Julius is helping and Tristan is not, but it all looks cute in a still-life anyway.
Breaking My Own Rule
Well, the blog was intended to be exclusively my "on the fly" reporting from my mobile phone. However, I realized today after an exhaustive episode of sorting through the latest pictures of the camera and sending various batches to various people that it would be so much easier just to stick them on the blog and send everyone a link.
I'm sure nobody cares where I post pictures from. Why did I care in the first place? Mental defect, that's my defense.
So, from here on out... crappy pictures are from the phone, good pictures are from the camera and anything that looks like a mental defect probably is.

Just Like a Man
Tristan reads a book while he sits on the potty seat. So far this potty training thing isn't working. He's peed everywhere BUT the potty seat.

First Ride of the Fair
Tristan, Julius and Dad ride the Super Slide, inappropriately named. A better name would have been Super Sticky or Super Sitting Still. Poor Daddy!

Reading a Story
Tristan Reads Mommy a story on the way home. "Ew! Gucky! Nunny. Goggy."
Translation... "Ew! Yucky! Honey. Donkey." (Eeyore gets covered in honey by Winnie the Pooh.)

Relaxation Station
Tristan spends a little time in the relaxation station. (That's what we call his little section of the couch where he sits when he's recovering from one of his famous meltdowns.)

Butterfly Whisperer
Julius makes a butterfly friend. This butterfly was a little crazy. Every time he'd fly he'd come back and land on Julius.
Amusing Ourselves
We had a big storm last night from Hurricae Ike who reached, unbelievably, this far inland. No electricity so Tristan didn't get to watch his show this morning. We are finding other ways to amuse ourselves. Right now he is stabbing a package of toilet paper with a screwdriver which means it's time for me to go!

Cast Iron Cooking
In an attempt to ween ourselves from aluminum cookware, we are using more cast iron these days. Old-fashioned Southern cooking! Tonight is my first attempt at au gratin potatoes via the heavy dang skillet!

The Infernal Wait
We all sit here waiting in a big line for our kiddies to be lead out of the school. Every day that I come here I think SURELY there must be a better way. But I've not come up with it yet. Hey, at least it's cool.
