Conspiracy Theories for Dummies

Julius thinks the new pre-pandemic flu was made by scientists in a lab and set loose on the population.

I swear he DID NOT get this from me, but he HAS been watching the news lately. Maybe I shouldn't let my 6-year-old watch the news. (I do fast forward through the violent stuff, but I didn't think science news about the flu would send us into some kind of bizarro alternative reality where kindergarteners were coming up with conspiracy theories about bioterrorism.)

We need more SpongeBob Squarepants.

Wouldn't it be scary if it turned out he was right???

My 6 year old grandson is crazed from fear over tornadoes, and I think a lot of that is because I pointed out news stories on tv about some of the horrible destruction afterwards. I thought that, as a boy, he'd find it interesting - and forgot that, as a child still innocent to the cruel side of nature, he'd be scared to death and think every high wind was a tornado that would rip his house apart. I think this falls under the category "what the hell were you thinking?".

I love reading about other families ... it makes me realize that we're all basically the same, and that our family is not so wierd, after all!
