We're waiting in pre-op. They don't have an IV run because nobody could get one started. They stuck her in 4 or 5 different places and then one of the guys said it was her fault they couldn't get the IV started.
Optimism is low. This makes me appreciate Children's Hospital so much more.

I can hit a vein that looks like a hair on a one pound chihuahua the first time and without any trauma.
It always pisses me off to hear things like this. Definitly...the...nurses...fault!
Her fault??? Oh, this makes me so mad. Where are you Wendy to the Rescue??? Get mad!!!
How could this POSSIBLY be her fault?! *le sigh*
By the time they let me in there they had already stuck her FOUR TIMES and there was only one vein left for them to do and she refused to let them stick her anymore. The whole thing was ridiculous.
The anesthesiologist was the one who finally got the vein. She started off by saying "Well, if we don't get this one we'll go in through your neck." Riiiight. Fortunately she got it. I don't think there's any way my mom would have let them near her neck with a needle.
